Junior golfer wins Monthly Medal
Several competitions were played at Pollak Park over the weekend.
Pollak Park Golf Club hosted its club competitions on Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday’s Individual Stableford competition saw Nicci Minnaar winning with 39 points.
Gavin Adams took second place and obtained 37 points, while Mike Chandler obtained 35 points and took third place.
Saturday Monthly Medal competition’s A-division winner was an upcoming junior, Rynhard van Biljon.
He won with 68 points on count out. His runner-up was Steve Murphy who obtained 68 points on count out.
The B division saw Andre Kruger winning with 70 nett points, while Victor Strydom took second place with 71 nett points.
Ernie Small won the C division with 67 nett points and his runner-up was Eddie Browning who obtained 72 nett points.
The winning visitor was Ian Daws with 67 nett points.
A group of golfers played in the Ratel Social golf competition on Saturday. No results were available at the time of going to print. Friday’s Meat Competition was won by Marius du Plessis with 36 points. Colin Spence took second place with 35 points.
The best front nine was taken by Nick Freeman with 17 points and Gerhard Gibson took the best back nine with 18 points.
The Pensioners’ competition played on Thursday was won by Gerry Saddler with 40 points and Jan Els took second place with 32 points. Wednesday’s IPS was won by Derek Noble with 39 points.
