Winners walk away with chickens
The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Bowling Club held a chicken fun day on March 21 to raise funds for the club.
SOB saw a full green of bowlers, young and old, who took part in the fun day.
The winners of the chicken fun day, each walking away with a chicken as prize, were Nigel Williams, Wollie Kirschbaum and Dave and Helen Veal.
Walking away with half a dozen eggs each were the losing team, consisting of Dennis Clarke, Rentia Pretorius and Tommy and Mary Stevens.
Sharon Pratt, secretary of the club says they had an amazing day with a braai afterwards.
The club had two men’s pairs playing on Saturday.
Raymond Pratt and Eddie Steenkamp beat Allen Pryce and Dave Veal with 25/9.
Pat Arnott and Wollie Kirschbaum beat Brian Harrison and King Cooke with 21/20.
Sharon and Brian played in the Gauteng Mixed Pairs competition and won their section, moving on to the next round which will be played on April 22.
