The Springs resident subsequently pleaded guilty after being charged with sexual assault and the manufacturing of child pornography.
SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says on counts one to five the man was sentenced to five years, and 10 years for counts six to nine.

Ramphora says the sentences will run concurrently.
On count one he was charged with sexual assaulting a child in 1994; on counts two to nine his victims were aged six to nine years.
The court found him unsuitable to work with children once he has completed his sentence, as well as unfit to possess a firearm according to Act 103 of the firearm law.
The sexual assault incidents took place in Selcourt in August.
