SAPS recover 11 stolen vehicles

Springs police's recovery of 11 stolen vehicles led to the arrest of three suspects in Eastvale and the CBD on Saturday.

According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, police spokesman, they followed up on information they received from the community.

“When the police arrived at the property on Sneeuberg Street, Eastvale, at 3am, they were able to positively identify five vehicles that were stolen,” he says.

Further investigations will be done to find the origin of the other six vehicles.

Ramphora says when they arrested the first suspect at the scene, they also found vehicle parts that are believed to have been stripped off some stolen vehicles.

This led to the discovery of another workshop in Second Street, CBD, where more suspected stolen vehicles were found.

“We arrested two more suspects at the workshop in the CBD,” says Ramphora.

The police also recovered six car radios with their front covers, several cellphones, vehicle keys and stolen vehicle engines at the shop in the CBD.
