JDX smashes Renegade in wrestling match

The World Wrestling Professionals (WWP) Final Justice event took place at the Springs Indoor Centre on Saturday.

Juandré ‘JDX’ Ward (24) from Springs organised the event and says it was the best wrestling show ever.

The day started off with a pre-show which is where the new wrestlers on the block show off their stuff.

The developing wrestlers fought for the interprovincial championship which is also the development championship.

Nathan Govender fought in the pre-show match against Matthew ‘The Hammer’ Hammar.

He won against The Hammer when he received back-up from other wrestlers and claimed the title of new champion.

This resulted in four Johannesburg wrestlers fighting against four Durban wrestlers in a tag team elimination match, four against four.

“The last to stand were the Durbanites, calling themselves the 031 Army, who won against the Johannesburgers,” says Juandré.

The Hammer then went into a match with JJ ‘Jay Titan’ Engelbrecht for the main show.

The rough match came to a close as Jay Titan pulled off a front standing back flip and landed on The Hammer.

Jay Titan won by pinfall.

The All African Champion Chuma ‘Kilimanjaro’ Okoye defended his title against Zama ‘Kwaito Kid’ Njongwe and managed to hold onto his championship.

Juandré fought the next match against George ‘Renegade’ Niemandt and says it was an exhausting battle which he managed to win by pinfall around 20 minutes into the match.

He explains that there are three ways in which to win a wrestling match:

• Winner by submission

When one wrestler has a hold on another and the latter taps out, it’s a win.

• Win by pinfall

This is when a wrestler is pinned on the mat and the referee counts three times.

• Outside the ring for 10 seconds

When a wrestler lies outside the ring and doesn’t return within 10 seconds, that wrestler is counted out and loses.
