Metro leaves lights on and neglects to comment

Selcourt resident Roelf de Lange writes:

Why are streetlights on during the day throughout the entire Ekurhuleni?

To generate electricity water is needed.

It is time that Eskom issue penalties to councils where streetlights are on during the day.

Consumers are getting fines for wasting water.

My wife and I do not waste water at all.

Some months our water reading is so low that we do not pay for water at all.

The council installed a new water meter, but was never happy with our readings.

They even dug up part of our driveway, thinking we were stealing water.

They never came back to repair the driveway, but came back twice to take photos of the sealed unit.

They ignored the damaged driveway and I had to repair it myself.

For months now nobody has taken water and electricity readings.

Are we going to pay unfair penalties on interim readings?

Bear in mind six weeks from now it is party time.

Despite repeated requests from the Addie, Ekurhuleni Metro have not commented on the matter.
