Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the aim of the operations was to search for firearms and drugs in the CBD.
He is adamant that the police will continue with the fight against crime.
During the first operation, the police arrested four suspects, aged between 24 and 66, for possession of drugs.

The suspects appeared in the Springs Regional Court on Monday and two of them paid an admission of guilt fine of R200 each, while the third suspect paid a R300 fine for possession of drugs and possession of counterfeit goods.
Ramphora says the fourth suspect was arrested for possession of 748g of dagga and remains in the Modderbee Prison until his next court appearance on Friday.
During the second operation, Visible Policing members arrested two suspects, aged between 25 and 30, for possession of drugs.

The two suspects appeared in the Springs Regional Court on Tuesday and paid admission of guilt fines of R300 each.
“The community’s role in crime prevention is important,” says Ramphora.
Ramphora says they also confiscated 169 counterfeit DVDs, syringes and various drugs including rocks and cocaine.
“We call on the community to support us in all our efforts to provide a safe and secure environment,” says Ramphora.
