Springs police were on routine patrols when they received a call of a body found in the street.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says on arrival they found the body (age unknown) of the man.
The deceased’s head and chest were full of blood.
The police called paramedics who, on arrival, declared the man dead at the scene.

Ramphora says the police found no documentation on the body.
The cause of death is not yet known.
A murder case was opened at the police station.
