Cyclists to experience floating bridge

Cyclists can gear up for the Transvaal Galvanisers MTB race on August 28.

The race starts at 8am, at Dalpark Extension One, Van Wyk Dam, opposite Carnival City.

Race briefing will take place at the start of the race and registration collection from 6am to 7.30am.

Non-licensed riders need to purchase CSA day licences for the 35km and 60km only.

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Entry fee for the 50km race is R190, the 35km R150 and the 10km R60.

Organiser of the event, Athol Davies, says there will also be a 500m children’s ride and the entry fee for that is R20 per child.

Late entries are available at the start at a cost of R30.

The first 100 entries receive a T-shirt.

There will be spot prizes and all finishers will get medals.

No helmet, no ride.

Refreshments will be on sale on the day.

All proceeds will go to Apricot Tree School for Stimulation and Development in Northmead, Benoni
