WARNING: Strong winds expected to hit Gauteng overnight
The Ekurhuleni Metro wishes to inform residents that the South African weather forecasters predict that strong and damaging winds will hit Gauteng from midnight tonight (Tuesday) until the early hours of tomorrow.
“These winds are sudden and can cause damage,” the metro reports on their Facebook page.
Residents are advised to stay away from the windows that open towards the severe winds.
Those who are travelling should be aware of cross winds, especially between buildings, and flying debris and should stay clear of fallen trees and power lines.
The Ekurhuleni Disaster and Management Services will be on high alert for as long as the adverse weather conditions persist.
