Do it for Springs

A Dedicated Springsite from Dersley writes:

In last week’s copy of the Advertiser I read a plea from the paper regarding the upcoming Wheels and Wings event.

I was moved to write this letter as a way to appeal to the community to see the merit of such an event and the selflessness expressed by the paper.

How often do we see organisations or companies coming together for a common cause like uniting the community?

More importantly, how often do we see something interesting happening in our backyard of Springs?

Building a community is not the sole responsibility of one party, but of all those involved and that is what Wheels and Wings is all about.

We cannot be passive and expect great things to happen in our town if we do not contribute anything towards it.

It would be such a pity if Wheels and Wings were to be cancelled because that would mean one less opportunity to unite and grow our community.

I believe that every little contribution counts and we should all try to pay it forward.

This is especially because charities and other non-profit organisations will benefit from it.

So this is bigger than the Advertiser and bigger than us as individuals.

It is about giving back to those who are going to benefit from the success of it.

If that does not move you to action, then I don’t know what will.

Let’s support Wheels and Wings and let’s grow our community.

Let us do it for the spirit of Ubuntu.
