Mirriam is grateful for donation

Students open their hearts to needy people.

Several students from the college joined three teachers to hand over the donation to Mirriam Ntsele, head of the centre.

According to Ayesha Lambat, from the college, they donate annually to several charity organisations as part of the Cold Hands Warm Hearts project.

“Spreading the warmth this winter with the students we intend distributing gloves, beanies, blankets, other winter gear and food items to warm up our neighbours in need,” she says.

This year, the teachers and students have decided to assist Thandabantu during the cold season.

Ntsele registered the NPO in December 2013.

She offers rooms to those in need of a place to stay.

“Our goal is to give decent food to people regularly,” says Ntsele.

There are currently 21 adults and 15 children staying on the premises, including Mirriam’s family.

Ntsele says all the donations they receive makes it easier to help those in need.

All funding for the food currently comes from Mirriam’s pension fund as they only have a few regular donors.

Ntsele hopes to see Thandabantu grow to new heights.
