The motive for the attack is unknown.

The colleagues of the woman who was shot dead on Molyneux Avenue outside the school, have expressed their grief at her passing.

The Advertiser cannot name the victim or her place of employment at this stage, at the request of the SAPS, due to the nature of the crime.

Her boss commented this morning (Friday): “She was a good employee who received several awards over the years.”

She says the loss of a wonderful person is serious, but the fact that it happened in front of children “makes it worse”.

“Our condolences to the family,” she adds.
