“The meters have not been installed according to numerical order,” says Brian. “They have not been aligned properly and worst of all the paving, around which the meters have been installed, has not been put back neatly and properly.”
The matter was reported to the Ekurhuleni Metro via email on February 15, a few days after they had been installed, following failure of the municipality to come rectify the job.
“It’s ridiculous,” says Brian.
“As professionals, they should ensure that their work is performed up to standard.
“They should not leave it up to us to point it out to them when an improper job has been done.”
The metro failed to respond, which is what led Brian’s neighbour to head to the metro offices personally on March 1.
“The municipal workers then came to the site during the second week of March,” says Brian. “They took pictures and that was the last time I ever saw them.”
Questions have been sent to the metro and we are awaiting feedback.
