Toddler (3) selected for beauty pageant

She has won several competitions since she first started modelling in 2014 and already has three big titles to her name.

Her titles include Miss All Star Westrand 2016, Miss Sexy Jeans 2016 and the overall winner at Miss Exquisite 2016 -Toddler which was held recently.

Her mother, Bianca Steenkamp, says she is one of 15 finalists who will compete in this pageant in Klerksdorp on September 3.

“The reason why we chose to enter her in this competition is because it is a journey that will teach little girls about beauty with a purpose,” says Bianca.

Melicke is encouraged to collect shoeboxes filled with clothing items, a face cloth, a toy, a school stationery item and a bar of soap for a certain age group for this pageant.

This will be handed out to many less fortunate children on Christmas.

Since March she has attended several charity projects and claims she never wants to stop doing good.

“We also arranged visits with less fortunate children in the community and at old age homes,” says Bianca.

Melicke handed out sweeties and spent some time with the children and the senior citizens.

Another project Melicke has embarked on is to collect blankets and jerseys for a Warmer Winter project.

“We are very proud of Melicke,” says Werner Steenkamp, her father.

According to her mother, Melicke counts her blessings and loves everyone for who they are.

“She is a little star, shining bright in everything she does,” says Bianca.
