20-year-old woman dies in Edelweiss accident
A 20-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle accident corner Butler and Protea roads, Edelweiss in the early hours of Friday morning.
According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesman, they found an overturned Renault Clio crashed into a lamp post, with the woman, Michelle Horn, still trapped inside the vehicle.
He says it is not clear at this stage what the actual cause of the accident was, but they assume she lost control of the vehicle when the car overturned and crashed into a lamp post.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and declared the woman dead at the scene.
Mokheseng says their Accident Reconstruction unit and the local police will investigate to find the exact cause of the accident.
Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora, confirms that a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
