The vehicle was stolen after a house robbery that took place at 2am, in Brakpan on Monday.
While members of the the EMPD Tracing Unit were on routine patrol in Springs, they noticed an abandoned vehicle at 10.30am on Monday.
Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesman, says the EMPD members checked the number plate on their system, and discovered it was a stolen vehicle.
“Upon further investigation by the metro police, it was confirmed that it was indeed the vehicle that was taken during the house robbery on Monday,” he says.
The EMPD members informed the Brakpan police of the recovery of the stolen vehicle and thereafter the vehicle was taken to the Van Ryn Deep Vehicle Safeguarding Unit in Benoni for safekeeping until the owner reclaims it.
