Another busy weekend for Pollak Park Golf Club

Pollak Park Golf Club was full on Saturday with 150 players occupying the course for the morning games.

The Sasol group and the Gingers were also on the course playing their league games on Saturday morning.

The club also hosted the Nigel league players who played against Pollak Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Betterball Stableford club competition was played by members throughout the weekend. Graham Vermeulen was the pivot player at Saturday’s games because he played in two teams as one team was short a player and he as the lowest handicap, partnered with two other players.

Graham managed to win a first and second place in the Betterball Stableford games.

The results for the weekend’s games are as follows:

Saturday morning Betterball Stableford first place winners were Graham Vermeulen and Johan Steyn with 43 points. Second place went to Renier Geldenhuis and Graham Vermeulen also with 43 points.

First place winners for the afternoon games were Marco van Biljon and Steve Murphy with 46 points and second place went to DJ Erasmus and Daryn Langley who also scored 46 points.

An Individual Stableford game was played on Sunday and saw Adrian Levelle take the top honours with 34 points while Dave Fluke’s 26 points earned him a second place.

Results for Gingers day are as follows:

Bruce McKenzie won the trophy with a score of 39 points playing off a 26 handicap, second place on a count out with 37 points and a 16 handicap went to Jeremy ‘JB’ Beeten and third place with 37 points and a handicap of 22 went to Dave Hearnshaw.

Nearest the pin was Colin O’Brien and Longest Day winner was Mike Barnard.
