Proudly Coloured Comedy sparkles like a diamond

The Proudly Coloured Comedy team, featuring some of the best comedic talent in South Africa, is back for a show at Emperors Palace that will be jam-packed with red-hot stand-up comedy.

Taking place in the Theatre of Marcellus on March 5, Dust to Diamonds will take a hilarious look at what it means to be a coloured in South Africa.

Proving that black diamonds don’t easily gather dust, the show will feature Stuart Taylor as MC, Shimmy Isaacs, Dillan Oliphant, Prins, Hamish Kyd and Tracey Lee Oliver.

Coming from humble beginnings, they are now regarded as some of the country’s funniest comics, who tell it like it is.

New to Proudly Coloured Comedy, Stuart Taylor is known for his witty stories, careful observations, and clever punchlines, never missing an opportunity to shine with his slick dialogue.

Joining him on stage is firm favourite, Shimmy Isaacs, from Worcester in Cape Town who is no stranger to comedy fans.

SA Comics’ Choice Awards winner, Dillan Oliphant never disappoints.

Hailing from Eldorado Park, Oliphant has made waves on the comic scene with his dead-pan one-liners, ensuring his unnervingly clever jokes are accessible to everyone.

Prins, a stand-up comedian from Sophiatown, is back from representing South Africa in Switzerland at the Jokenation Gala Evening.

Prins, one of 1 000 entrants in the international competition, has polished his routine to perfection and has set his sights on amusing the masses. Veteran actor-playwright, Hamish Kyd from Durban, is known for his distinctive sense of humour.

He has penned, produced, directed and acted in several theatre works over the past 27 years and received the a Living Legend Award in 2009 for his contribution to arts and culture in KwaZulu-Natal.

Completing the line-up is Tracey Lee Oliver from Ceres in the Western Cape.

As a two time Naledi nominee for her roles in Dreamgirls and Knights of Music, Oliver has shared the stage with the likes of Joey Rasdien, Marc Lottering, Riaad Moosa and many more.

Fans can look forward to a no-holds barred, swear-free, family friendly comedy event.
