Information received from Lt Col Lungelo Dlamini, SAPS provincial spokesman, states that in addition to the stab wounds reported yesterday (Wednesday), Jordaan was also shot.
The deceased’s vehicle, a silver Nissan Navara and his cellphone were stolen.
He was reported to have been off-duty and fishing at the time of the robbery.
Police are also appealing to anyone with information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
It is alleged that he was confronted by an unknown number of suspects while he was fishing at the dam.
Dlamini says Voort’s body was found at 2.30pm, lying on the grass with stab wounds on his upper body and that he died at the scene.
It is suspected that a sharp object was used to stab him.
