Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games 2016

Kwatsaduza - The City of Ekurhuleni, in conjunction with the Gauteng Department of Sports and Recreation, is calling on all preschools in national regions to register for this year’s Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games.

According to Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe, the games are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among children from an early age, encouraging a love of sport and helping to increase their confidence.

Each preschool can register only 10 participants, consisting of a combination of boys and girls, from five to six years old, as the preschools will challenge each other.

The successful teams will move on to the next round, at regional level, and then the finals.

Gadebe says it is important and compulsory for all teams wishing to participate in the competition to register their teams on time, to avoid disappointment.

The cut-off date for registrations is February 29, however, the official date and venue for the games have not yet been announced.

The various sports in which the children may take part involve ball-throwing, ball-hopping, ball-kicking, ball-dribbling, ring-throwing and cycling.

Preschools interested in this initiative can register their teams through area coordinators, and preschools from the eastern region can call Tumelo Selopyane on 011 999 8209 or 079 578 0359.
