Temporary office causes havoc at new Springs Mall

The temporary office that was erected in Pridgeon Avenue North on Friday is above board says Selection Park ward Councillor Shadow Shabangu.

“The office will serve as a Community Liaising Office (CLO) for people looking for employment at the new Springs Mall that is currently being built,” says Shadow.

Many residents have lodged complaints with the Addie since the office went up but Shadow says, “permission was granted and procedure was followed.”

“The land on which the office is placed is municipal land and permission was granted to erect the office there. The office which was previously located on Fryer Road, Casseldale had to be moved because it was difficult for people to find,” adds Shadow.

Jeremy Erasmus (32) who is a resident on Pridgeon Avenue says, “the office is directly opposite our house, we look straight into it when we look outside.”

“The paper work was filled in, approved and permission was granted for the CLO office to be placed on the land belonging to the municipality,” says Stefano d’Arrigo (39) one of the Springs Mall‘s developers.

The Springs Mall which is situated north of the N17 is scheduled for opening in March or April 2017.
