Strong win for Colts

The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Cricket Club Colts team challenged Wattville in a league match at the club on Sunday.

SOB decided to bowl first and won the match by bowling Wattville out for 38 runs.

The Colts hit the winning runs within the fifth over.

William Rudolph, Colts coach, says it was a good strong win.

Rickus Neetling bowled five overs and took three wickets for 13 runs and two maidens with 13 runs, whilst Ashton Rudolph took three wickets and two maidens in his five overs with five runs.

The Premium side played a good match against Tembisa but lost the match by five wickets

SOB scored 150 runs with Christiaan Ferreira batting a mighty 34.

Tembisa’s spin bowler, Israel Hlengani, took four wickets for 27 runs and one maiden in his 10 overs.

Lionel Joubert, SOB chairman says, SOB bowlers started off well with Cameron Berney’s outstanding three wicket take in six overs for 49 runs.

The SOB u-12 S team played against Boksburg and won their match by 46 runs.

Top batsmen were Jayden Mostert with 18 runs and Henco Maritz with 17 runs.

Top bowlers were Divan Immelman who took two wickets in three overs for three runs, Duhan du Plessis bowled four overs and snagged three wickets for seven runs and Nathan Steyn boasted two wickets and six runs in his two overs.
