Towing company manager shot at during confrontation

EMPD members arrested a 46-year-old man in Nuffield for attempted murder on Tuesday.

Springs EMPD officials Louis Els and Louwtjie du Toit responded to a complaint of a shooting in progress at a towing company along Pearse Avenue.

Shocked employees informed the officials that two suspects entered the premises at 9.15am and started arguing with the manager.

Els says one suspect was armed and threatened to shoot the manager and an employee if his vehicle wasn’t released.

The suspect’s car had been towed to the premises earlier that day.

The suspect allegedly fired a shot in the direction of the manager when the manager phoned the SAPS.

Although the manager wasn’t injured, the EMPD officials arrested the armed suspect and seized the firearm.

The man faces charges of attempted murder, pointing a firearm and discharging a firearm in a public area.
