Unscheduled power outage in Welgedacht

The electricity was reportedly cut off from early in the morning to 7pm that evening.

Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the Ekurhuleni Metro, confirmed that there was an unscheduled power outage.

“There had been an outage since 7am that morning, but it was restored at 4.30pm,” he said.

According to Gadebe Eskom switched the power supply off without notifying the metro.

“There were problems from the Eskom supply that necessitated the outage,” he said.

The Addie sent Eskom a query who subsequently indicated that they had communicated the planned power outage to the metro.
