Couple’s dinner interrupted by robbers

Two armed men robbed a house in Cloverfield Road, Dersley, on Friday.

A man and his wife were enjoying supper in their bedroom when they were surprised by two robbers.

Both robbers were armed and pointed their guns at the couple.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says they robbers demanded cash.

They searched the house and took R50 000, clothes, shoes and jewellery.

They also asked the wife for the keys to her BMW.

The robbers forced the man to open the garage door, but when he failed to do so, they loaded the stolen goods into a Nissan NP 200 bakkie and fled the scene.

No shots were fired.

A case of house robbery and theft was opened at the police station.
