The incident reported to the Addie of refuse bags being collected, despite not being placed in the wheelie bins, was brought under the metro’s attention.
Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro, says that it was an isolated occurrence by one of the refuse collection vehicles.
“It has been addressed and should not occur again,” he says.
Only refuse placed in the wheelie bins will be collected.
There is no limit to the number of bags as long as it is inside the wheelie bins.
“Residents can, however, request for additional bins at an additional levy of R129.99 per bin.
“The various mini disposal sites can also be used free of charge for extra garden refuse generated,” Gadebe concludes.
