Hijacker asks for directions

A man's prized possession, his grey Mercedes Benz B250, was hijacked in Presidents Ranch on Wednesday.

The man was driving towards the CBD when an Audi A4 (colour unknown) flicked its lights at him, indicating he must stop.

An unknown man approached him and asked for directions to Pomona.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man claims while giving directions, the suspect pulled out a gun and tried to remove the victim’s car keys from the ignition.

Two more suspects then arrived on the scene.

The victim was forced into the back seat and two of the suspects got into his car.

They drove to Brakpan and dropped the man off in Dalpark.

Ramphora says the suspects took the victim’s cellphone, wristwatch and bank cards.

They demanded the pin numbers for the cards and the man claims they withdrew money from his accounts.

The vehicle was not fitted with a tracking device.

Anyone with information, can contact Springs police on 011 365 5700/19/20.
