“The President” to fight in Durban

EFC 43, to be held on August 27, at the Durban ICC will see two Springs fighters vying for a win.

Tumisang “The President” Madiba (28) will take on Tyson Chelin (22), who fights out of Gorgeous Boyz Hardcore in Durban Central, in the featherweight division while Pieter “The Wolfman” de Klerk (25) will face off against Andrew Smith from Durban in the bantamweight class.

Tumisang says that he is expecting this to be “an explosive fight”.

Chelin will be on his home-ground where the “ICC loves him as much as Carnival City loves me,” but Tumisang and his camp believe that the two fighters are well matched to give the spectators a great fight to look forward to.

This will be his first profesional fight outside of Johannesburg and Tumisang says he is looking to finish Chelin off as soon as possible while still getting a decent amount of cage time.

Tumisang, who celebrates his birthday today (Thursday), says winning this fight will be his gift to himself.
“My preparation has gone well.

“I picked up straight after my EFC 41 loss to Wesley Hawkey by rear naked choke in the first round and am still campaigning for the belt,” Tumisang says adding, “its shows the nature of the game, you have to be prepared for everything.”

Tumisang fights out of the Pro League camp under the management of James Read and the eagle eye of coach JP Kruger at House of Tinkerbell Kickboxing and MMA Academy.

JP says “It’s going to be explosive. This is a different Tumisang to the man who took on Wesley.

“Our team messed up during that fight.

“We underestimated Wesley’s game so big ups to him for a strong fight, it was a silly mistake and one we won’t be making again.”

JP assures Tumisang’s fans that there are big things in store for the fighter and his loss to Wesley was merely a stepping stone to greatness.

About his upcoming fight, Tumisang says: “Tyson is a Muay Thai guy and very cool under pressure so it will be explosive with great cage time but ultimately I intend to take him down as soon as possible.

“People can expect fireworks from the moment the bell rings.

“Tyson will be out to impress the home crowd and bounce off his recent loss while I am desperate to get back into the winning column again.

“I’d like to thank God for my team, family and the city of Springs for their support as well as sponsors Vision Air Brakes for making sure my camps always go smoothly, RSV and Scenic Tours for getting me to Durban.

“And of course my jogging partner Zeus (James’ dog).”
