Springs Art Gallery Exhibition open to all
An array of timeless art pieces, ranging from the twentieth century to modern times, adorns the City of Ekurhuleni's Springs Art Gallery (SAG) at this year's prestigious Acquisition Exhibition.
The currently ongoing SAG Acquisition Exhibition kicked off on July 27 and showcases items that were acquired by the city by means of donations, commissions, achievements and as gifts over the years.
Art lovers will be taken by the exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures of varying mediums.
“As the City of Ekurhuleni, we invite all citizens who are passionate about art and those who want to learn more about it to interact and consult with us at our exhibitions in order to establish solid partnerships in growing the love of art in our communities,” says Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
He adds the aim of the SAG Acquisition Exhibition is to enrich and expand the views of the community through art.
Audiences from schools, universities, adult groups, community centres and individual artist’s will get to view the gallery’s permanent collection through a guided tour.

- Wilson (Madala) Edom
- Lekau Matsena
- Sabelo Mabuza
- Marietha Smith
- Pebofatso Mokoena
- Erica Stach
- Sipho Zikalala
- Xolani Ngwenya
- Taryn Drazek
- Keith Sondiyazi.
The exhibition is currently opened for public viewing until September 30.
The Springs Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9am to 4.30pm and Saturdays from 8am to noon, and access if free of charge.
