“Ideals are peaceful. History is violent.”

This is according to Don “Wardaddy” Collier (Brad Pitt) in the action war drama Fury.

And, if this quote is anything to go by, viewers know exactly what to expect from the moment they press the play button.

Directed by David Ayer, the film is set in 1945 during the final months of World War Two.

Pitt, who plays a battle-hardened sergeant and commander of a Sherman tank called Fury, is instructed to lead a dangerous mission behind enemy lines.

Of course, things go awry and Wardaddy and his platoon of four men, including Private Norman “Machine” Ellison (Logan Lerman), a trained typist without any experience on the battlefield, find themselves outnumbered and outgunned.

Facing overwhelming odds, Fury and her crew soldier on and through their courageous determination, they prove why heroes are remembered.

Brilliant and fast paced, Fury is definitely not to be missed.

Fans of Platoon and Saving Private Ryan, this film is for you.
