Like a dog with two tails

Remember a few weeks ago I told you all about how mom had to heft me onto the couch because I could not get myself up there?

Well! Now that the cortisone pills have stopped I have so much more strength.

Seriously!

I eyed Alpha’s chair the other day but mom was ignoring me. Cleared my throat and made some grunty noises.

Still she ignored me.

Thought I’d give it a bash myself and by my wiggling whiskers…I soared onto that chair like an eagle!

Okay. So maybe it was more a clambering mission of note, but the bottom line was that I jumped up into Alpha’s chair all by myself!

Mom got up a lot later and spotted me slumbering on Alpha’s laptop.

Her eyes grew round with surprise!

Fudges! She gasped.

You got onto that chair all by yourself. You clever clever pooch!

She gave me a smooch and a hug.

Yeah yeah – I know I’m a clever doglet – now how about a nice meaty reward then?

Sadly she went in the upstairs direction and not in the kitchen direction.

I sighed put my head on the laptop and went back into nap mode.

Later on I jumped off Alpha’s chair and jumped onto the couch instead.

Thought maybe such activity on my part would really galvanize mom into dishing up a treat for me.

Looked like she read my mind because she wagged her finger at me and reminded me that I might not have to eat the foefie pellets, but I was still on a diet and there would be no treats coming out of the kitchen any time soon.

Not even for very worthwhile things like jumping up on the furniture.

I also discovered that if I put on my big-girl furry knickers I could manage to get up the stairs.

Have to go slowly and there is no such thing as taking two stairs at a time like I used to.

But I can do it!

Still can’t get onto the bed though. That’s mainly because Alpha put the bed on blocks so that I can easily wiggle underneath when the thunder dog roars. Which he did, I might add, most horrifically the other night.

Whilst mom is really impressed that I can jump again, Alpha seems to not appreciate all the hairs I share with him on his chair.
