N17 welcomes new manager

The N17 Hospital recently welcomed new manager Andries Joubert.

Andries (49) officially started at the hospital on July 7 and alread feels at home in his new office.

Before joining the Netcare group he was the financial manager at Medicross in Sunninghill, Sandton.

This Rowhill resident worked for Medicross for 18 years and looks forward to the challenges of his new position.

He first wants to expand the hospital’s image so it can become a hospital of choice.

His task will be to manage the hospital on financial and business levels.

This will not be difficult for Andries as he completed his masters degree in business administration in 1999.

“I have always loved to work with figures, but also enjoy interaction and communication, as well as building strong relationships with the doctors,” he says.

He will aim to manage the hospital within its financial budget and to make it a profitable one.

“We are here to make the patient happy and when that is achieved, we have created a healthy and happy environment,” he says.

Andries also hopes the hospital will recapture the PMR Diamond Arrow Award.

The Diamond Arrow Award is the highest prize the Professional Management

Review (PMR) can bestow upon a company in South Africa for excellence in various industries.

The hospital has won the Diamond Arrow Award twice, as well as a Silver Arrow Award.

Andries has other plans in store for the hospital that he is not yet ready to disclose.

Andries is married to Gerda Joubert (49) and they have two daughters, Andri (23) and Jani (9).

They all love nature and often go camping.

“I go hunting and also loves taking photographs,” he says.

As a social cyclist, he has conquered the Momentum 94.7 Cycling Challenge four times and the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour twice.
