Jeep driver hijacked in Selcourt

The driver of a maroon Jeep was hijacked in Selcourt on Saturday.

The driver had stopped at the corner of Angola Road and Coaton Avenue at 4.15pm, when he noticed four men approaching his vehicle.

Two of the men, who were armed with guns, walked towards the driver and the other two walked around the car to the passenger side.

The two armed men pointed their guns at the driver and ordered him to “move over”.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the four men got into the vehicle and drove off with the driver.

They drove to an open field near Tonk Meter Way, where they dropped the driver off.

Ramphora says the hijackers drove towards KwaThema.

The driver’s cellphone, cash and personal documents were in the car.
