Community has had enough of offensive posters
A Springs resident has had enough of offensive posters in town.
Bob Gillies, a well-known businessman in town, says these posters are not only defacing municipal property, but are also horrible to look at.
“This is the most foul-looking city I have ever been in,” he says.
The posters, many advertising cheap abortions and penis enlargements, can be found all over town on columns, municipal boxes and traffic signs.
He says the whole of Second Street in the CBD is covered in posters and believes this is because the train station is nearby.
“I was recently in Cape Town and did not see a single poster the entire time, whereas here in Springs, you can get ‘treatment’ for any possible problem you might have just by walking past a pole,” says Gillies.
He claims foreigners are responsible for the posters.
Gillies threatens to walk down the streets and cover the telephone numbers advertised on the posters, and says he will continue to do this every time there is a new poster.
