Successful SAPS annual cluster auction

The SAPS annual cluster auction was held on Thursday (June 11) at the Springs police station.

The cluster comprises the Springs, Devon, Dunnottar, Nigel and Duduza police stations.

A few pieces of furniture belonging to the government, as well as unclaimed items forfeited to the state were up for auction.

Capt Marinda Pieters, organiser of the event, says while less items were available for auction, all the items were sold.

Bidders were given a chance to pick their item of choice and place their bids.

After the auction committee identified the highest bidder, they were informed and instructed to collect the items by 2pm.

This all takes place on the same day.

Pieters says she is impressed with the amounts offered for the goods.

David Tshikumbana and Fanuel Sibande from Springs support the auction every year.

Although their bids are not always successful, they say they will continue to support the auction because it’s for a good cause.

Monies from the auction will go into the SAPS government account.
