The Springs couple accused of abusing their five children in a house within the city appeared briefly in the Delmas High Court this morning.
The case was postponed to November 17.
The 37-year-old father is waiting for a bed at a psychiatric hospital where he is required to undergo psychiatric observation before the case can continue.
The man remains in custody at the Modderbee Prison.
The wife’s bail has been extended until the couple’s next appearance.
