Business robbery victims tied up

Armed suspects empty business' safe.

A business owner was surprised by six armed men in his office in the Springs CBD, yesterday (April 8).

He and two employees were waiting for the night-shift staff to arrive at 7pm, when they noticed two armed men entering the office.

Another four armed men followed the first two.

Springs police spokesman Amanda Greybe says the suspects ordered the three victims to lie on the floor and tied them up with cable ties.

One of the robbers asked the owner for the safe keys.

Greybe says the owner pointed to where the keys were and the suspects opened the safe.

They took an undisclosed amount of money, two cellphones and a laptop.

The robbers locked the three victims in a room, and left the building.

No shots were fired.
