Scrapyard robbed of copper cables

No one was arrested.

Armed suspects tied up a security guard before they robbed a scrapyard in New Era, on Tuesday (March 31).

While on duty, the guard noticed a vehicle at the entrance gate and went to investigate.

When he approached the gate, he saw an armed man who ordered him to open the gate.

Upon entering the premises, six more armed suspects jumped out of the vehicle.

Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says once inside the building, the suspects demanded copper cables.

After they tied up the victim, they took copper cables, cellphones and radio speakers, and left.

No arrests have been made.

Ramphora says if anyone can assist the police in their investigation, they can call 011 365 570019//20.
