Tremor hits Springs

The tremor was 3.1 on the Richter scale.

The earth tremor which was felt on last Thursday in almost all parts of Springs was a small one.

Ian Saunders, project leader of data analysis at the Council of Geoscience confirmed that the tremor was 3.1 on the Richter scale.

It took place at about 3.47pm and many people from Springs, Nigel and Brakpan felt the rumble from under the earth that lasted for a few seconds.

Ian says the epicentre of the tremor was outside Nigel and it was about 15km wide.
