Enormous win for Springs

The U/21 Springs rugby team played against Nigel at the Springs Rugby Club in Geduld on Saturday.

Jaco van Dyk and Thys de Villiers (captain) each scored a try in the first half of the match which put Springs in the lead 23 – 7.

The most tries were scored by Zoliswa Ngwenya, who scored a total of three tries for his team in the second half, giving Springs a wider lead.

AndrƩ Grobelaar and Francois Poolman also each scored a try for Springs in the second half of the game.

The U/21 Springs team scored a total of seven conversions.

Gerhard Jordaan scored the penalty kick and all the try kicks, scoring a total of 17 points for the Springs team.

The final score was 52 ā€“ 7 for Springs.

The U/21 Springs team have only lost one match out of five so far and seem to be going strong.

They won the Assupol series last week, which consists out of university teams as well as club teams.

In this series, they won against the Pukke (Potchefstroom University) and in the finals, the Impala Rustenburg team 34 – 28.

They are also the only Springs team who made it through to the finals during this series.

The Valke Club league starts on April 11.
