Springs victorious against PE

Springs East Rand Cranes rugby team played a hard game against Don's Pawn Shop PE Police.

The match took place on Saturday at Springs Rugby Club at 4pm.

Shaun McGeer scored a try in the first half of the match, scoring five points for Springs against PE’s 15.

The crowd was cheering the team on and spirits were raised after the first try was scored.

Johan Zondag scored a conversion putting the score at 15 – 8 to PE.

As the scores were evening out, the spectators were screaming with excitement and both teams’ names were yelled out whenever they neared the try line.

Johan scored a penalty kick and the half time score was 22 – 11 to PE.

In the second half, Riaan Botha also scored a try.

Young and old were sitting on the edges of their seats as the second half began with a good start for Springs.

Johan scored another penalty kick in this half.

When tension was high and the game was coming to a close, the cheering intensified.

The horn signaled the end of the game and play went on for a few more minutes.

At this stage the score was 22 – 18 for PE but in the final seconds of the game, Marthinus du Plessis scored a try for Springs, putting them in the lead.

The crowd went wild and could be heard for miles as they realised that Springs has just won the game.

Johan then scored a conversion and Springs East Rand Cranes beat Don’s Pawn Shop PE Police with a score of 25 – 22.

The victory was celebrated in high spirits as the team came together and sang a victory song on the field.
