The road between Springs and Kwazenzele Informal Settlement is open to traffic again.
Residents blocked off the road with cement blocks and burning tyres this morning.
They claim they want to see the mayor Mondli Gungubele.
The Springs police attended to the scene where it was tense for a while.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, says everything is back to normal and the people are calm.
The residents are unhappy about the ward councillor who promised them houses two years ago.
They claim nothing has materialised since then.
“All the debris was cleared and the road is safe to be used by motorists again,” says Ramphora.
