Bhairavi Sungum helps those in need

Diwali was celebrated last week and the community use this opportunity to donate food to the needy.

Diwali is celebrated by Hindu’s from around the world.

Krish Pillay, former chairman of the organisation, says they eat a lot during this time.

It has been the tradition of the Bhairavi Sungum of Springs to not waste food, but rather ask the communitty to open their hearts to the needy by donating some of the food to them.

He says it does’t matter how big or small a donation, but the Give a Tray on Diwali Day project helps to give food to those in need.

“It is absolutely wonderful to see the community open their hearts to those in need,” he says.

The food was donated to a children’s home in Springs.
