The trio were all injured and failed to make the cut on the 40-man list, which was also missing Paul Jordaan and JC Astle, also sidelined.
However, the rest of team, announced by new director of rugby Gary Gold, had a familiar look to it.
Bismarck du Plessis was named captain last week and would be assisted by deputies Pat Lambie, Tera Mtembu and Francois Steyn.
Utility back Steyn, however, was unavailable for selection at present as he completed his commitments in Japan. Ryan Kankowski and JP Pietersen were also still playing club rugby in Asia.
New signing Michael Claassens was also unavailable, wrapping up his contract at his French club Toulon before joining the Sharks.
Jean Deysel, who returned to the franchise on Monday, was already training at Kings Park after being named in the squad.
The Sharks squad is: Lourens Adriaanse, Mouritz Botha, Renaldo Bothma, Dale Chadwick, Michael Claassens, Marcell Coetzee, Kyle Cooper, Lionel Cronje, Jean Deysel, Bismarck du Plessis (captain), Jannie du Plessis, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Thomas du Toit, Andre Esterhuizen, Monde Hadebe, Conrad Hoffmann, Ryan Kankowski, Patrick Lambie, Khaya Majola, Franco Marais, SP Marais, Tendai Mtawarira, Lubabalo Mtembu, Lubabalo Mtyanda, Waylon Murray, Lwazi Mvovo, Odwa Ndungane, Etienne Oosthuizen, Paul Perez, JP Pietersen, Cobus Reinach, S’bura Sithole, Matt Stevens, Frans Steyn, Stefan Ungerer, Marco Wentzel, Heimar Williams, Jack Wilson, Cameron Wright, Fred Zeilinga.
