Hashim Amla: fastest batsman to reach 6000 runs in ODI

Hashim Amla became the fastest batsman to score 6000 One Day International runs during the fifth and final ODI against India at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Coming into the match needing just 15 runs to reach the mark, opening the innings Hashim Amla scored 23 from 13 balls before he edged a wide delivery from Mohit Sharma through to wicketkeeper MS Dhoni.

Hashim Amla took 123 ODI innings in 126 matches to achieve the feat, 13 innings fewer than Virat Kohli who fell to second on the list.

The 31-year-old Proteas Test captain has scored 6008 runs from 126 matches at an average of just under 53 at a strike-rate of 89.
