After spending the morning off the field for a suspected shoulder injury, South Africa’s Morne Morkel came on to bowl at midday on day two of the first Test against Australia at SuperSport Park, in Centurion, on Thursday.
Morkel had gone for a scan on his right shoulder after he fell awkwardly while fielding on the opening day of the Test. The scan revealed only a slight inflammation, and he was given the go-ahead to resume his bowling duties for the Proteas.
Morkel came on to bowl with Australia on 348 for seven, and nine runs were scored off his over.
