We saw it again when we lifted the trophy for Rugby World Cup 2007, and when we hosted the Soccer World Cup in 2010.
Now in 2015, Shield and Vaseline, South Africa’s Number 1 Selling Deodorant & Skin care brands, are on a mission to get the nation behind The Springboks for the Rugby World Cup 2015 and to solidify our national pride.
To kick-off this movement, Shield has aired an inspiring TV advert that optimises our national pride, and how it exists across all spectrums of our nation.
The #1Team1Nation national pride campaign is running as part of Shield and Vaseline’s Rugby World Cup 2015 sponsorship. This is an all-inclusive drive for South Africans to get involved and unite in sharing their support for our team.
To do this, the brands are encouraging all South Africans and fans of The Springboks to actively use the #1Team1Nation hashtag on all their social profiles, igniting national pride, nationwide!
Fans will also be encouraged to visit www.1team1nation.co.za and leave a message for The Springboks. In doing so, these die-hard fans can stand a chance to win tickets to the Ruby World Cup 2015 Final in England. What’s more, their message of support could be one on many chosen to be presented to The Boks on game day.
Join the #1Team1Nation movement by visiting www1team1nation.co.za. You can become part of the virtual stadium by selecting your seat, sharing a message of encouragement for the Springboks and browsing messages from fellow supporters.
You can also feel the pride of wearing the official Rugby World Cup 2015 Springbok jersey by creating a shareable image of yourself in it, as well as keep up-to-date with Rugby World Cup and Springbok developments.
With a special focus on bringing rugby to life for people who aren’t ordinarily interested in the sport, or do not understand it, the brands are visiting shopping centres around the country in the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup.
From Soweto and Khayelitsha to Ellisras, Rustenburg, Vhenda, Pinetown and Tygervalley, the Shield and Vaseline teams are doing 400 activations across the country. Here, shoppers can get into the spirit of the game by kicking goals and tackling inflatable rugby players. And because not everyone has their own Internet access, the crowd will also be able to share their messages of support on www1team1nation.co.za at these events.
“We’re really excited about this initiative, to be playing a part in solidifying a real sense of national pride, and to see people coming together to celebrate Rugby World Cup through the #1Team1Nation activities,” says Keegan Alicks, Brand Manager, Vaseline South Africa.
Get in on the action by watching our video here, visiting www.1team1nation.co.za and joining the conversation with Shield on Twitter or Facebook and with Vaseline using #1Team1Nation.
