Griquas’ rugby lock Rory Arnold will appeal against being found guilty of biting Cheetahs’ hooker Ethienne Reynecke.

Arnold was banned for seven matches after the guilty verdict, which was delivered by an SA Rugby Union (Saru) judicial hearing on Wednesday. His appeal will be heard on Friday.

Arnold received a red card in Griquas’ Currie Cup clash against the Free State Cheetahs on Saturday, after Reynecke complained to the match referee, who referred the matter to the television match official before sending Arnold off.
