Lions head coach Johan Ackermann on Thursday announced his team for Saturday’s clash with the Bulls, taking place at Loftus Versfeld.

Ackermann named a total of six changes, of which two are positional, with two changes up front and four at the back.

Andries Coetzee is shifting from fullback to left wing and Harold Vorster moving across from inside to outside centre.

Marnitz Boshoff will start at fullback and Howard Mnisi will slot into the inside centre berth, with centre Lionel Mapoe ruled out of the match with a minor knee injury.

In the only forward changes hooker Robbie Coetzee and tighthead prop Julian Redelinghuys will return in the places of Akker van der Merwe and Ruan Dreyer respectively who will make the impact from the bench.

Centre Alwyn Hollenbach has been drafted in to the match day side after Mapoe failed a late fitness test. Word from the Lions camp is that Mapoe sustained a minor knock to the knee last weekend against the Cheetahs and has not yet recovered fully.

Apparantly he took full part in training on Monday and Tuesday but then the knee started swelling up again and it was decided not to risk him.
